Microsoft announces a preview of ARM support on Azure virtual machines, using Ampere Altra processors, and promises up to 50% better price-performance than x86  —  It’s been a long time coming, but Microsoft is making available a preview of Azure VMs supporting Arm-based processors from Ampere.
